ABOUT US
Dixon Youth Rise (DYR) is a Black-led organization that recognizes the needs of the community, adopting a youth to adult’ model of skills and relationship building.
Dixon Youth Rise is reflective of the local communities and schools in it’s makes up. Leadership is predominantly Black, Somali’s, Canadian, adults and youth participants.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS
Dixon Youth Rise offers programs that cover: leadership, Sports, Arts, self-awareness and building confidence aimed towards families and youth in our community.
The boys and the girl’s program are run every Monday evening. Some of the topics and activities we deliver to the girls are understanding bullying, self-esteem (social media and its consequences), leadership, arts, problem solving, cooking, employment and better communications with others and families.
